Starlink Will Deorbit 100 Troubled Satellites

Since 2019, Starlink has been offering satellite internet services to areas that do not have conventional internet services. They then entered the Malaysian market last year and then offered satellite cellular services. Starlink has announced they will deorbit 100 satellites in space that are detected as problematic.

All 100 of these satellites are still working but the detected issues mean they could stop operating at any time. Before this happens and service disruption occurs, the satellite will be de-orbited in stages over a period of three months.

The figure of 100 satellites seems like a large number but the fact is that at this point Starlink already has almost 6000 satellites in space.
