Tablet Production Declines 10.3% Through 2023 – iPad Holds 40% of Market

Last year's phone production dropped 3.2% compared to 2022 with Samsung eventually overtaken by Apple. Only Apple recorded an increase in smartphone production while other competitors recorded double-digit production. But it is different in the tablet market because throughout 2023, Apple's fate is different according to data published by Canalys.

Throughout 2023, tablet production will decrease by 10.3% compared to 2022. Apple is still at the top with the iPad holding 40%. This is followed by Samsung (19%), Lenovo (6.9%), Huawei (6.1%) and Amazon (5.8%).

Amazon was the worst affected as production plunged -42.9%. Although the iPad still dominates the tablet market, it is marred by a -11% decline. Only Huawei registered a positive increase with it increasing 32.1% compared to 2022. Huawei returned aggressively last year after years of being constrained by American trade sanctions. iPad production was affected because no new models were introduced last year.
