This Is The Samsung Galaxy Ring – A Smart Ring That Tracks Health

The actual design of the Samsung Galaxy Ring was shown by Samsung during the MWC Barcelona event today. It's a silver colored ring with a shiny exterior with several health tracking sensors visible on the inside.

Although the design has been shown, Samsung is still tight-lipped about the specifications of this smart ring or when it will be marketed to the public. Based on what has been shared before, the Galaxy Ring will be able to track pulse, ECG sensor, track sleep patterns, detect blood pressure and is also believed to be able to detect sleep apnea. It is also rumored that the Galaxy Ring can be used to control various Samsung devices.

In a report by The Verge who attended the closed session, the Galaxy Ring will be offered in three color options, namely platinum silver, ceramic black, and gold. It will also be offered in a choice of sizes ranging from 5 to 13. The larger the size of the Galaxy Ring, the larger the battery capacity.

Samsung has already received detection by the FDA and the South Korean health department recently which confirms that their sleep apnea detection sensor can be used as a medical device.

The smart ring was developed by Samsung because smart watch users commented that it was uncomfortable to wear. With the smaller Galaxy Ring, it is more comfortable to wear all day and to take to bed. It is very likely that the Galaxy Ring will be launched simultaneously with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 next July.
