UM And Alibaba Cloud Sign MoU To Develop Cloud And AI Technology Skill Center




Universiti Malaya together with Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba's cloud technology subsidiary today signed a memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) and opened the Alibaba Cloud Academy Skills Center along with a number of programs that will benefit students at the university .



Along with the skill center, this understanding also introduces the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP) which introduces the latest curriculum related to cloud technology and Alibaba Cloud artificial intelligence that gives students and university faculty access to the latest Alibaba Cloud technologies that will give graduates an advantage when entering the world of work later.


The AAEP program will give UM students access to Alibaba Cloud Academy's cloud computing and e-learning resources through various seminars, special guest lectures and various interactive workshops. They can also access more than 300 online and offline certification courses, 16 professional certifications and 250 online hands-on labs with more than 300 Alibaba Cloud Academy affiliates worldwide.



In the meantime, Alibaba Cloud also introduced an internship program called Future Star, where Universiti Malaya is a pioneer university. Through this internship program, trainees will be given the opportunity to enter the cloud technology and artificial intelligence industry for three to six months to gain invaluable industry experience.



Those who have gone through the Future Star program also have the opportunity to join Alibaba Cloud as a cloud technology engineer, or various other companies that utilize Alibaba Cloud cloud technology in their operations.



The signing of the MoU between UM and Alibaba Cloud shows the company's long-term commitment in continuously developing the country's digital workforce. This initiative aims to build a competitive IT workforce in developing the country as a technology hub in the Asian region.
