Users of the free version of NVIDIA GeForce Now will start being served ads starting tomorrow according to a report by The Verge. The free plan will display ads for up to 2 minutes while users wait their turn to start a video game streaming session.
According to NVIDIA, advertising will cover the cost of this free service. It is simply offered as a trial plan for customers who are not yet ready to subscribe to the Priority and Premium plans offered. Previously free plan users had to wait before an open slot could be used.
In Malaysia GeForce Now can be subscribed at a price starting at RM30 per month or RM300 per year. Based on my personal experience of trying GeForce Now before, it's an interesting service but the need for 24/7 internet makes it less than ideal.
