At Plaça de Willy Brandt, Barcelona today Xiaomi also introduced three wearable devices to complete the Human x Car x Home ecosystem with the Xiaomi 14 series. Two models have already been launched in China, but a new model was launched as a surprise for Wear OS fans.
Xiaomi Watch 2
This watch is a basic and more affordable version of the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro launched alongside the Xiaomi 13T series last year. It uses a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a brightness of 600 nits. The watch is powered by the same Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip as the Pro model.
The watch frame is made of aluminum alloy, has 5 ATM water and dust protection, uses WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 connections, is equipped with accelerometer sensor, gyroscope, pulse scanner, compass barometer and more. This watch is also equipped with a 465mAh battery that can last up to 65 hours. Charging is via its own magnetic dock.
This watch runs the Wear OS operating system (undisclosed version) which is equipped with more than 160 sports modes, 12-channel health monitoring, 5 GPS systems, and uses a simple and light design. There are only two colors offered, silver or black, with a variety of watch strap options including a recycled construction material version.
Xiaomi Watch S3
This watch was already launched in China last year. It uses the same screen as the Watch 2 but features a switchable bezel. Xiaomi will sell various sets of watch bands with bezels, where each bezel has its own watch face. The battery is also bigger which is 486mAh with a durability of up to 15 days. For the global version, there is no ECG support.
This watch also has multi-GPS support as well as the ability to monitor the user's health comprehensively. The watch runs the Xiaomi HyperOS operating system, their first smartwatch with this system. Because Xiaomi does not use Wear OS, the sports mode is limited to over 150 and basic smartwatch functions such as replying to messages or reading full messages are not available.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro
You will recognize this product by its old name which is Mi Band. This is their eighth generation and is a more professional iteration with more powerful features and functions. The screen is larger which is 1.74-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 336 × 480 pixels, 600-nit brightness and protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
It uses a Bluetooth 5.3 connection, has 5 ATM protection, a 289mAh battery with a durability of up to 14 days, as well as the same sports and health features as the Watch S3. The watch body is made of steel with a TPU watch strap. There are two color options, black or white.
These three wearable devices will be launched in Malaysia soon. Giving users a choice whether they want something basic but friendly to many devices, something unique and friendly with the HyperOS ecosystem or something as simple as a wristband. The Xiaomi Watch 2 will be sold at a price starting at EUR 199 (~RM1030), the Watch S3 will start at EUR 149 (~RM771) and the Smart Band 8 Pro will start at EUR 89 (~RM461).
