Yahoo Fires Some Engadget Employees – Will Change Site's Focus

Engadget is one of the leading technology and gadget focused media sites for almost 20 years. For information, his company has been taken over and through restructuring, where Engadget now operates under Yahoo.

Most recently, in line with various companies announcing job cuts, Yahoo was also not far behind and announced that it will lay off around 10 employees at Engadget. At the same time, the focus of the site will also be restructured.

Moving forward, the editorial team will be split into two, one focused on news with the goal of increasing traffic over time. Another section will focus on reviews and purchase tips, with the goal of increasing e-commerce revenue.

This also shows that Engadget will focus more on traffic, SEO, and affiliate income moving forward. Previously, there were several media companies also taking the same step, leading to a decreasing popularity.
