At the end of last year, Grab introduced their digital bank offering, GX Bank as a simple way for people to open a bank account for savings and use for digital and physical purchases with debit card offerings.
I opened my GX Bank account at the end of November 2023, but did not put money into the account because there was no need for it until now. However, today I received an email from GX Bank saying that my account will be closed in three days.
It seems that the time limit for opening an account without making any deposit is three months from account registration, where GX Bank will send you an account closure notice if no deposit (minimum RM10) is made during that time.
I will leave this account closed and will try to register with the same email address to see if it is allowed or not. So far I have read the FAQ section of GX Bank and nothing is said about account closure by GX Bank, except that your account will be set as inactive by GX Bank if it does not detect any money transactions after 12 months after the last transaction.
