Apple Cancels Epic Developer Account – Halting Epic Games Store Development For iOS

Epic is already planning to introduce its own app store for iOS, in line with legislation in Europe that opens up to third parties to provide app stores on platforms like iOS. Anyway, now the planning seems to have stopped and may not continue.

Through Epic's partnership, Apple has canceled the accounts of Epic Games developers, making it difficult for them to publish any applications for the platform. According to the shared letter, Apple found Epic Games "untrustworthy", and there is a possibility of non-compliance with the laws that have been set in the developer agreement.

Apple's move is also seen in parallel with Epic's lawsuit against Apple, in addition to some social sharing by Epic's CEO criticizing Apple. Apple itself according to the terms and conditions, has the right to cancel a developer's account.

In any case, since this step is a barrier to other developers especially in the European market, it is no longer known how the authorities there will take the step, and the effect on Apple itself.

Let's take a look at further developments, and what Epic will do next for the iOS platform.
