Apple Was Discussing Buying Tesla – Before Starting Its Own Car Development Project

This week, it came as a surprise when Apple finally canceled their vehicle development project, after almost 10 years in development. The reason behind it was not shared, or announced by Apple.

In parallel, there is now a report related to Apple's vehicle development efforts, by the New York Times. Through it, it was quoted that Apple had discussed with Elon Musk to take over Tesla.

As many are aware, this is not the first time we have heard about it. Previously, Elon Musk himself had stated that he had contacted Tim Cook to sell Tesla to Apple, however, Tim Cook's side did not treat him at that time.

According to the NYT report, Apple, after discussing taking over Tesla, decided to develop its own vehicle – which is seen as perhaps easier to integrate than a takeover.

Anyway, now with Apple's car development project canceled, it is unknown if they will start looking back to take over other car companies or vice versa.
