ASML Reportedly Wants to Leave the Netherlands

If Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is the most important technology company in the production of semiconductor chips in the world, ASML or Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography is the most important company in the semiconductor chip manufacturing equipment manufacturing sector.

Based in the Netherlands, some reports have said that the company is looking to expand its wings in other countries, as the business climate in that country makes it difficult for them to get quality new workers.

This is related to income tax for workers from abroad and also the difficulty of obtaining work visas. This is important for ASML because 40 percent of the company's workforce consists of migrant workers, and the country's political climate is also reportedly not very conducive to large-scale businesses.

It is also reported that the Dutch government wants ASML to be based only in the Netherlands and does not want the company to open new branches in other countries due to several factors such as economy, security and so on.

The situation has previously caused companies such as Shell and Unilever to move their headquarters operations out of the country, and open them in London, UK.

Because of this, it has also been reported that the Dutch government is drafting a new law to enable ASML's operations in the country to ensure that they get the right workforce easily, and not move the company's headquarters, codenamed "Beethoven ".

ASML is a developer of DUV (Deep Ultraviolet) and EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) equipment required by companies such as TSMC, Intel and Samsung to develop high-tech semiconductor chips with 10, 5, and 4nm builds below.

ASML's ability to develop this technology in the Netherlands makes the country one of the valuable countries in this semiconductor era, and ASML's departure from the country can be seen as a great blow to the country's government from a political and policy perspective that does not help anyone.
