Bytedance Reportedly Has No Plans To Sell TikTok In The United States

The United States is set to introduce new legislation that will force TikTok to sell their business in the United States, or the app will be banned. This led to various debates, including users in the United States who criticized the government's decision.

Further to that, now according to a Caixin report, the founder of Bytedance is said to be against any move to sell the TikTok platform. Bytedance is also not looking for any buyers for the platform, although there are already several parties offering themselves.

It is said that Bytedance is ready to view this move by the United States itself as a ban on the TikTok application in the country. This is because for it to be sold, it will require a longer period than 180 days, besides at the same time requiring the permission of the Chinese authorities.

If the legislation is passed and enforced, there is a possibility that TikTok will leave the US market – which will cost it around 120 million active users in the US.

At the same time, it is not impossible that we see various other Chinese companies will also consider expanding their offerings for the United States market.
