Charby Orbit Wireless Charger 2 Review – Cool Dual-Magnetic Wireless Charger

Charby to this day is still serious about offering universal MagSafe accessories. That's right, Qi2 technology is already the standard for magnetic wireless charging. But this local brand effort from a former UTM student started two years ago. In 2022, they have come up with a variety of magnetic accessories for phones that are very user-friendly. Recently, the ORBIT Wireless Charger 2 was launched, which is a dual-magnetic wireless charger.

If you look at the table above, the specifications of this wireless charger are just normal. Its uniqueness lies in the 16 neodymium magnets that are tightly connected without gaps. Charby Orbit Wireless Charger 2 also uses a dual-magnet design on the front and back so that it can be attached to any iron surface without any additional accessories.

This charger is also designed with a 0.26-inch larger frame to be 8% cooler than their first generation charger. Charby also claims that in laboratory tests, the Orbit Wireless Charger 2 has a charging rate 24% faster than Apple's official MagSafe charger.

USAGE EXPERIENCE

The way I use any wireless charging pad is the same. If it's round and flat I'll keep it on the desk if it's in the office. But for the Charby Orbit Wireless Charger 2 for the first time I used this charging pad in the car.

In the car, I use the Orbit Infinity as a device holder that uses magnets similar to Apple MagSafe. This charging pad is designed with dual magnets on the front and back. The back with the aluminum surface is for attaching the Orbit Infinity and the front surface with the vegan leather is for the MagSafe.

The magnet used is very strong, in the car when I hit a bump on purpose and the hole of the device did not fall out and still remained attached. The device gets a little warm as the 15W charging takes longer to charge to full but no serious issues with the device.

Although this Orbit Wireless Charger 2 supports MagSafe, it does not officially support MFi. If you are wondering "Eh, if there is no MFi how can there be MagSafe animation?", the answer is because Charby uses OEM products that have received MFi. They only make small changes to have their own identity.

CONCLUSION

After months of using this wireless charger, the Charby Orbit Wireless Charger 2 has become my favorite accessory. Especially for users of the Charby ecosystem who have been using this brand for the past two years. It's simple, looks premium with a leather finish and is easy to use.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 that I use with this charger have no problem charging wirelessly at a fairly fast rate. My one gripe is, the built-in cable should be more durable – maybe the embroidered kind. The selling price is also not very expensive and it is in the affordable category.
