Lately, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA has released some very interesting statements such as there is no importance for children to learn programming and how computers bought 5-10 years ago can already be considered obsolete.
Recently, at the NVIDIA Graphics Technology Conference event, Jensen answered questions from the media regarding computer games that will be produced entirely by artificial intelligence. He expects that such games will begin to arrive within the next five to ten years.
This is not surprising, especially when graphic assets can now be designed using AI, and the technology is advanced enough that game development companies such as Ubisoft have shown NPC characters developed by AI.
In the current computer and video game industry, AI is used to improve the quality of graphics processing, particularly through Ray-tracing and Super-Sampling. Jensen says that in the future, this graphics processing power could be used to create brand new content like what generative AI services like Stable Diffusion and Midjourney do.
Dynamic content creation through AI is also something that is getting a good response. Instead of deepfake technology, we now have a service where a video can be created from a text prom. This kind of technology is only going to get better in the future, and it wouldn't be surprising if a video game could be created from just a few words.
