The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department has now shared that it will issue specific guidelines for the installation of solar panels in buildings, homes and business premises across the country. These guidelines will also involve several other parties, including the Energy Commission and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA).
The guidelines are expected to include a number of information, including related to the distance between panels, the appropriate size, grouping of panels, and various technical matters for the installation of solar panels at home or any premises.
For now, it is no longer known when these guidelines will be released.
The fire department's partnership comes as a follow-up to the recent fire in Mydin Manjoi, where the fire team could not make manual holes in the roof due to the solar panels that were joined for ventilation purposes. Because of that also, it makes it difficult for fire effects.
