The government has now announced the granting of free tolls in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri for two days, starting from 8 April 2024 until 9 April 2024. Under this, all private vehicles (Class 1) can use all highways for free, except at highway toll plazas at the national border.
The government is expected to allocate a total of RM37.60 million for this purpose in the form of compensation payments.
People are still required to touch the Touch n Go card, or go through the toll plaza as usual, but there will be no charge during the two-day period. With this measure as well, it is expected to slightly reduce the cost of preparing for Hari Raya and the cost of going back to the village. People are also asked to make good travel plans to return to their hometowns, and be careful on the roads.
