I have been using Google Photos for years. It is the best solution for backing up photos in the cloud and can be accessed cross-platform on any device. Two years ago, Xiaomi started integrating Google Photos into their album app because Xiaomi Cloud was not friendly for global users.
Recently, Android Police reported that the gallery application on devices under BBK Electronics namely Oppo, OnePlus and realme also started integrating Google Photos. Interestingly, after the user allows Google Photos to access the device's gallery application, all the photos and videos that have been backed up will be displayed. If the user downloads any file, it will be saved in the Restored folder.
Google also allows users to turn off this feature through Google Photos settings, App & Devices, then Google Photos access. This is because this feature cannot detect edited photos on Google Photos and Google Photos cannot detect duplicate photos and videos. But if you just want to keep pictures as memories, believe me they are very useful.
