Intel, Google, Arm, Qualcomm, Samsung and several other technology companies have established The Unified Acceleration Foundation (UXL) in an effort to counter NVIDIA's dominance in the world of AI.
Through UXL, AI development will no longer be tied to usage such as specific programming languages, code bases and other tools that bind them to specific architectures, such as Nvidia's CUDA platform.
Technical information about UXL will be refined by H2 204 with one API being supported which is an open standard by Intel. Although announced as a challenger to NVIDIA, UXL plans to also support the platforms used by NVIDIA in the future.
