iPhone 12 Supports Qi2 After iOS 17.4 Update

Qi2 is a new wireless charging standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium together with Apple. Qi2 brings MagSafe-like magnetic wireless charging support to all devices. So far the new device that supports Qi2 is the iPhone 15 and recently after the iOS 17.4 update, the iPhone 12 received this support.

Last year, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 received Qi2 support after the iOS 17.2 update. For the iPhone 12 it was tested by MacWorld with the Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger and found that the device was charged at 15W power instead of 7.5W like Qi. The iPhone 12 is also said to only display the MagSafe charging animation if the device is being charged wirelessly at 15W power.

For those of you who want to try it yourself, many Qi2 chargers are already being sold in online stores. Make sure you check the authenticity of each product instead of buying it because of an attention-grabbing advertising gimmick.
