Leica Malaysia has today announced that their latest digital camera, the Leica SL3 has entered the local market, and can be purchased through their physical stores as well as online.
Through it it uses a full-frame 60-Megapixel CMOS sensor that supports L Mount lenses. Also available is the option of shooting at 60MP/36MP/28MP resolution depending on the type of image format, either DNG or JPG. Then the ISO range is between 50 and 100,000.
The autofocus system is also better which combines three different technologies namely Phase Detection, Object Detection and Contrast Detection for the production of sharper images in various situations. There is also intelligent subject recognition that can improve the camera's ability to capture complex scenes with ease.
Complementing the Leica SL3 is the Leica Maestro IV processor with L² Technology (L squared Technology) which is capable of producing images with satisfactory colors and less noise. Video recording can be made up to 8K with H.265 (HEVC) and ProRes codec options.
The user interface has also been redesigned to make it more user-friendly. At the same time, buttons are also provided with different colors such as red for photo mode and yellow for video for ease of use. This camera also has waterproof capability that exceeds the IP54 standard.
On the back is an EVF with 1,843,200 dots and a 3.2-inch tiltable LCD panel. Checking through the official website the Leica S3 is listed in Malaysia at RM36,400 apiece without lens.
