A court in Brazil has now ordered Meta to stop using the name "Meta" in Brazil, effective in less than 30 days. This is after a computer service provider company in Brazil filed a lawsuit against Meta, for violating the use of the name and leading to customer confusion.
Meta Servicos was registered in Brazil in the late 2000s. Through the lawsuit filed, it is said that since Facebook changed its name to Meta in 2021, the company has also been listed on various lawsuit filings, as well as showing Instagram profiles deactivated on the grounds of impersonating others.
As many are aware, Facebook has previously changed their name to Meta, and focused on the development of metacity. However, lately they are seen focusing more on the development of artificial intelligence.
For now, Meta has not released any comments related to this matter yet.
