Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram now says they are working on developing a new video recommendation engine for all platforms under them. With this step, it is expected to show more relevant and interesting videos for each user.
This new recommendation engine model is expected to power not only Reels videos, but various other videos shared through their platform, including long-form videos.
Sharing further through a technology conference event in San Francisco, Meta also stated that for now they are using a different recommendation model for each feature, including for Reels, Facebook Feeds, and even Facebook Groups.
With the development of this new recommendation model, it is expected not only to offer better content, but also to be more relevant and make users interact more actively through it.
Giving an initial idea, Meta stated that you may see a video on Reels, and then to Facebook Feed where you will be able to see some content that is more or less the same.
