Meta Says All Oculus User Accounts Will Be Deleted By The End Of This Month

Recently, Meta has issued a reminder for Oculus virtual reality device users that Oculus user accounts will be deleted on March 29, 2024. With this deletion, all Oculus account details will be removed as well, such as all purchased content, friends list, achievements in games and so on.

To prevent this from happening, Meta advises Oculus account owners to transfer their accounts to Meta. Technically, Oculus accounts have already started moving to Facebook or Meta accounts since 2022, but deactivating logins has already started since 2023.

At the end of this month, the accounts will be disposed of because Meta no longer wants to keep the account data, and advises those who still want to keep details about app purchases and so on to transfer their Oculus account details to Meta or Facebook.

To do this, users simply need to create a Meta account using the same email address used to log into their Oculus account. Meta will then start the information transfer process automatically.
