Meta is now informing CrowdTangle users that the service will end on August 14, 2024. This will have a huge impact on users of the service – especially journalists and academics.
CrowdTangle is one of the services that facilitates journalists and publishing organizations in conducting research and comparison with various other publishers. In addition, academic researchers can also use it to access a number of data and information related to the development and use of users on the platform.
Meta announced that a new feature called Meta Content Library will be offered - but more aimed at academic users and researchers only.
With this move, it once again sees Meta distancing their platform from content publishers and journalists – after recently also announcing it would end Facebook News.
