Nissan And Honda Sign A Memorandum Of Understanding For The Development Of Electric Cars

Nissan and Honda announced today that they are considering a strategic collaboration in the electric car arena, especially in the production of components for electric cars, in addition to the development of artificial intelligence in automotive platforms.

This collaboration is expected to benefit both parties and at the same time reduce costs. A memorandum of understanding was signed to examine the possibility of cooperation between these two parties. This step is also seen to be taken in parallel with the increase in fierce competition from Chinese manufacturers - making the two Japanese competitors work together.

The cooperation between these two parties is also expected not to be limited to the Japanese market only, and may be extended to the global market if things go well.

Even before this, we have already seen several leading vehicle manufacturers announce collaboration in terms of platforms and smart development – while reducing the costs borne by each. Today, the electric car market is led by manufacturers from China, in addition to manufacturers such as Tesla.
