SCREEN

The screen is flat 6.7″ AMOLED with HDR10+ resolution along with a 120Hz refresh rate that can be set according to several options either auto, standard or high with a refresh rate that can be lowered to 60Hz. The screen panel built into this device is responsive to touch and able to provide a good video content viewing experience.

The bezel on the screen is also thin at the same time making the content display area more comprehensive along with a peak brightness level of up to 1100 nits which is definitely still bright even when used under the scorching sun. A small circle at the top of the screen acts as the front camera.

BIOMETRIC

The fingerprint scanner is built at the bottom of the screen and it can detect fingerprints well and quickly. The face scanning system provided can also work well even in dark conditions without issues of failure to detect faces or frustrating time lag issues.

DESIGN

Oppo Reno11 F 5G comes with a design inspired by nature with three attractive color options, namely Palm Green, Coral Purple and Ocean Blue. The device I tested was an Ocean Blue color with a rippled and sparkling blue sea wave design along with a smooth back body panel and a flat body. This device is also very light and thin with a weight of 177g and a thickness of 7.54mm.

The body is comfortable to hold and easy to operate with one hand. There are also two camera lens bumps that house the triple camera system on the back which isn't too thick and a circular layer of squares underneath. Unlike the previous Reno11 5G that comes with an oval-shaped bottom layer of the camera lens.

The power button and audio adjustment are located on the right side while the dual nano SIM slot and micro SD card slot are placed on the left side. At the bottom there is a port for USB-C charging and also a speaker. The upper part only houses a small hole for the noise cancellation function.

There is no built-in 3.5mm audio jack hole but there is IP65 waterproof and dustproof feature. The design of this device as a whole does not resemble the design of the Oppo Reno11 5G that I reviewed before but has its own cosmetic and design value.

USAGE & SOFTWARE

The Oppo Reno11 F 5G runs the ColorOS 14 operating system based on Android 14. This is where I noticed a slight error on it where too many fat applications were loaded. The interface display is neat with some additional functions such as File Dock, Smart Touch and Smart Image Matting.

The ability of the built-in MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor chip feels quite good in moving the device even though it is a relatively old processor chip. The device is also equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Not only that, the RAM increase feature is also available where the virtual RAM setting can be expanded up to 8GB RAM or turned off. During the test period, all applications run well and can be downloaded quickly without any problems.

BENCH MARK

Here are the scores from the benchmark test results recorded by the Oppo Reno11 F 5G using Geekbench 6, Antutu 3D and 3D Mark. The comparison is made with Oppo Reno11 5G and realme 11 Pro+ because all three use the same type of processor chip, the Dimensity 7050.

Antutu 3D Benchmark

Oppo Reno11 F 5G – 606353

Oppo Reno11 5G – 501800

realme 11 Pro+ – 562446

Geekbench 6

Oppo Reno11 F 5G – 884/2164

Oppo Reno 11 5G – 797/2254

realme 11 Pro+ – 946/2382

WildLife Extreme

Oppo Reno11 F 5G – 2176

Oppo Reno 11 5G – 2278

realme 11 Pro+ – cannot be tested

Looking at the results of the score and also comparing it with other devices that use the same chip shows a fairly balanced score. Throughout the period of use, indeed in terms of the smoothness of the display and applications it is good and almost the same as my experience using the Oppo Reno11 5G before.

Playing favorite games like Call Of Duty with high quality display settings is also quite good but there is no denying that with medium settings games can be played more smoothly. I also realized that playing the game for a long time will cause the body of the device to get a little hot but not extreme heat. Overall in terms of performance, the Oppo Reno11 F 5G has good performance capabilities for a mid-range device.

TELEPHONY & GPS

This device supports 5G and WiFi 6 networks where it provides a simple GPS usage experience. Not too fast and not too slow throughout the duration of use.

CAMERA

Next, the camera system of the device is equipped with 64MP (main), 8MP (ultra-wide) and 2MP (macro) which provide quite good photo and video capture results. The camera also has the ability to record videos up to 4K. According to Oppo, this device is another smartphone with the same expert portrait camera as the previous Reno11 5G model. Sufficient lighting makes the picture look bright, beautiful and brighter. Even if captured in a relatively dim environment, the image will still appear slightly brighter and sharpness will still be preserved.

The result of portrait photos taken using this device also coincides with what Oppo introduced as 'portrait expert'. The subject in the picture is seen clearly and the portrait feature can also distinguish the subject from the background well.

The results of pictures using night mode are also seen well with bright enough information. Although it is a bit less sharp, it still shows the objects in the picture clearly even if the picture is taken in dark and low lighting conditions.

The built-in 32MP selfie camera provides satisfactory photo results. The color of the picture is not bright and faded.

BATTERY

The battery capacity of the device is 5000mAh which can definitely last the whole day on a single charge. The provided 67W SUPERVOOC charging support takes about 50 minutes to fully charge from 15% to 100%. A smart charging feature is also provided where it can be set to adjust the charging pattern based on routine use and there is also a stop charging at 80% setting similar to that found on iPhones and Samsung smartphones for better battery health care.

AUDIO

The interesting thing about the audio system on this Oppo Reno11 F 5G is that it has an ultra-volume feature that makes the audio volume of the device can be increased up to 300%. To be honest, I rarely use this feature because it's too loud and hurts the ears, but it feels quite useful if used in a noisy environment.

The experience of watching videos and listening to music is satisfactory but if it is installed at high volume, the audio will sound a bit hoarse and as if broken. This is where the weakness of mono audio can be detected as well as being one of the shortcomings of the device.

IN THE BOX

Here's what's included in the box.

1x Oppo Reno 11 F 5G.

1x USB-A to USB-C charging cable.

1x Silicone frame.

1x Charger 67W three pin.

1x Manual.

1x SIM Pin.

CONCLUSION

After more than a week of testing it, what I can conclude is that the Oppo Reno11 F 5G is a device that deserves to be called a 'portrait expert' device with a combination of light, beautiful and unique body design along with good performance capabilities. For those who like portrait camera features but want a device with a reasonable price, then the Oppo Reno11 F 5G can be considered.

The battery capacity is also large and can last a long time and has a good screen display. In my opinion, the lack of mono audio is still acceptable because this may be one of the features of the specification reduction done by Oppo for this Reno11 F 5G offering so that the price is a little lower than the normal model.

Pro

120Hz screen.

Large battery capacity and long lasting.

Loud speaker with 'ultra-volume' feature.

IP65 splash proof.

Cons

The result of faded and less sharp selfies.
