Public Bank's TNG eWallet And MyPB Can Now Be Used At Over 2 Million Retailers In Japan

Alipay has now shared that their payment platform is now supported at more than 2 million merchants and retailers in Japan, making it even easier for global travelers to use the platform with Alipay support.

For information, a number of digital wallets use Alipay technology integration, called Alipay+. In Malaysia itself, two digital wallets that support Alipay+ are Touch n Go eWallet and MyPB by Public Bank Berhad.

With this step, it also makes it easier for local users traveling to Japan to spend and pay. You can easily scan the Alipay+ QR code using Touch n Go eWallet or MyPB Public Bank, and then make an instant payment easily.

In addition to the use of Alipay+, the Japanese government itself is looking at the introduction of cross-border QR codes that can be integrated with financial systems in several countries, such as DuitNow QR in Malaysia. However, it may only be introduced as early as 2025.
