Shopee today has started introducing an additional charge for the purchase of goods against consumers, known as the "SST Shipping Cost" charge. This charge is applied to the user when making a purchase on the relevant e-commerce platform.
The introduction of this charge on the platform is something new. Previously, until yesterday, no such charges were levied by the platform. Shopee is seen implementing the charge, in line with the SST charge increase of 2% to 8% effective today.
Shopee states that the SST charge on this shipping fee is collected based on the Total Shipping Cost after deducting the discount.
