Take-Two Takes Over the Developers Behind Borderlands Games

Take-Two, one of the video game giants that develops games under studios such as Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto) and Zynga, today announced it will take over Gearbox from Embracer Group for $460 million.

With this move, Gearbox will join Take-Two, and continue their game development. Among the games currently under development under the firm is the new Borderlands game, in addition to the Homeworld game.

Among other IPs that will also be acquired by Take-Two under this takeover are Duke Nukem, Brothers in Arms, Risk of Rain, and several others.

Take-Two stated Gearbox will continue operating as a studio under 2K. The various processes involving the relocation are expected to be fully completed in a few months.
