NVIDIA now has supercomputers developed with artificial intelligence processing chips H100 and H200 which are among the most powerful supercomputers in the world. Although this supercomputer is seen using high power, it is still able to be cooled with a fan cooling system.
At the SIEPR Economic Summit 2024, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has said that the next DGX supercomputer will be cooled with a liquid cooling system after this and will come with an elegant design to allow the supercomputer to operate optimally.
No further details have been given about this upcoming supercomputer, only that it is likely that it will use the Blackwell processing chip that was shown at the end of last year and will replace the Hopwell chip this year.
Dell has also indirectly shown the power consumption of this graphics card, which is said to reach 1000W. If a DGX supercomputer comes with eight Blackwell graphics cards like what is shown on the DGX H100, it would not be surprising to see a liquid cooling system built into the supercomputer.
