The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is now sharing the event of the equinox that will happen this week. Through it, the Sun will be directly above the Equator throughout the day, leading to an event called the equinox. For this year, the event will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
On that day, the whole world will experience the same length of day and night, which is 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night. For some areas that are actually above the Equator line, it also leads to "shadowless" midday events.
In Malaysia, shadowless noon is expected to occur a little later after the equinox, which is on March 27, 2024 in Putrajaya, and March 28, 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.
