World's Fastest Camera Capable of 156.3 Trillion FPS Developed in Canada

The record for the world's fastest camera has passed to the Swept-coded Aperture Real-time Femtophotography (SCARF) camera developed by a group of researchers from the National Research Institute of Science (INRS) in Quebec, Canada. This camera is capable of recording images at a rate of 156.3 trillion FPS which overtakes the 70 trillion FPS camera record developed by Caltech in 2020.

To take pictures at this extremely high rate, a 156.3 THz laser system is used to illuminate the subject before a computer system is used to ensure the light reaches the sensor in stages. 156.3 THz.

This ultra-fast 156.3 trillion FPS camera will be used for studies such as femtosecond laser ablation, and the interaction of waves with living cells.
