Earlier this month, Elon Musk said he wanted to offer the X app for smart televisions. This is because X wants to be used as a video-focused platform to compete with TikTok and YouTube. Recently, this application has been shown to the public.
As previously reported, the X app on television will resemble YouTube. If you look at the videos shared on X, the top row is a short video called Shorts and the bottom is a collection of videos with a longer duration. Only three buttons are given which are search, to the main page and to the user profile. This application appears not to display any text content.
A special URL that is x.com/i/tvlogin will be provided to make it easier for users to log in to the television. Users can also follow various accounts to receive video notifications or related video recommendations. According to sources, the application is based on the web version so that it is easy to support to more different televisions. For now it is still uncertain when this application will be offered to users.
