Today's launch also saw the Xiaomi 14 Ultra being officially offered in Malaysia. It is another flagship class device that focuses on camera capabilities in collaboration with Leica.
In addition, a premium body finish is included with a combination of vegan leather construction on the back panel, while the screen is fully curved on the front panel. The frame is made of metal which is said to have better resistance.
Touching on the specifications aspect, this device uses a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED WQHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. At the same time the display also offers other additional features such as DCI-P3 color gamut support with a peak brightness of 3000nits, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and DC Dimming.
Its mainstay is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Also followed by a new HyperOS launcher and a 5,000mAh battery. It can also be recharged using a USB-C port that also supports 90W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The most prominent feature of this device is of course the camera system used. It comes with a Leica Vario-Summilux lens along with a 50MP quad-sensor setup. First is the 50MP 1-inch primary that uses the new Sony IMX LYT-900 image sensor along with Dual Native ISO Fusion Max technology for impressive dynamic range. It also offers variable aperture capabilities between f/1.63 to f/4.0.
Then followed by 50MP for telephoto using the Sony IMX858 image sensor with OIS and 3.2X optical zoom capability. Then there's also a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS that offers up to 5X optical zoom, and finally a 50MP ultra-wide lens with an aperture of f/1.8.
The device's camera can also record a maximum of 8K/30fps video, in addition to having a brand new macro mode with a minimum distance of 5cm. Meanwhile, the selfie camera is 32MP which also supports maximum 4K recording.
Other specifications include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, IP68 waterproof, infrared transmitter and Wi-Fi 7 support. A total of two colors to choose from such as Black and White.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra is sold in Malaysia at RM5,199 and the pre-order session has been opened starting today for those who are interested. Purchases made between 8 to 21 March 2024 will be given attractive prizes worth up to RM2,346.94. It consists of a Photography Kit (RM799), a 6-month Google One subscription (RM50.94), a year of additional warranty (RM599) and a 6-month cracked screen replacement warranty (RM299).
