5G Adoption Rate In Malaysia Now Reaches Almost 36%

The Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil has now announced that the adoption rate of 5G in Malaysia has reached almost 36%, as of mid-April 2024. This at the same time shows a drastic positive increase compared to the relatively low level before.

The adoption rate of 5G began to increase sharply after the government recently ordered 5G access to be given free of charge to all telecommunications customers, without any additional charges. This at the same time allows people to activate 5G network on their supported devices without having to pay extra to the service provider.

This also leads to a rate of 5G usage that continues to increase day by day. In addition to the adoption rate, the Minister of Communications also shared that the coverage rate of 5G services had reached 80.3% of populated areas in February 2024.
