Automattic, the company behind WordPress has already taken over the text messaging application before. Now, apart from that, today they also announced the acquisition of another messaging application, namely Beeper.
Beeper offers a multi-messaging service, where users can connect multiple accounts under one application, and manage various things involving messaging easily on one application.
Previously, Beeper has been the focus of many when it offers a messaging service between Android users and iPhone users through iMessage integration. However, the connection method is not liked by Apple, and has been blocked.
It is said that the Beeper and Texts teams will later merge to form one, in addition to uniting both under one platform. Automattic is expected to retain the Beeper branding for the new platform in the future.
With this new development, let's all look forward to the form of Automattic's steps in continuing to compete in the messaging service offering.
Along with this announcement, the new Beeper app for Android is now available for download on the Google Play Store.
