Samsung has currently provided the Galaxy AI feature on the Galaxy S24, Tab S9, S23, Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 series. There are also many owners of old Samsung flagship devices who are quite disappointed that this useful artificial intelligence (AI) feature is not received by their devices. But according to Sammobile citing Samsung's official forum, Galaxy AI will also be given to flagship devices in 2021 and 2022.
This means that Galaxy AI will arrive to the Galaxy S21, S22, Z Flip3, Z Flip4, Z Fold3, Z Fold4, and Tab S8 series through the One UI 6.1 update that will be given in May. However, the Galaxy AI feature that will be received is also not as complete as in the Galaxy S24 series.
For example 2022 flagship devices will receive all Galaxy AI features except Instant Slo-mo. On the 2021 flagship device, only two AI features will be accepted, namely Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite. There is no real-time subtitle support and picture editing using AI for example.
YJ Kim, the head of the AI Team at Samsung's mobile device business whom we interviewed in San Jose earlier this year already said that not all Galaxy AI features can be provided on older devices due to processing power constraints on the NPU chips used.
