Google Podcasts is no longer accessible to users in the United States as of yesterday. This raises the question of when this Google podcast application will be discontinued in other markets because they previously only said the application would be turned off in early 2024.
Today Google confirmed that Podcasts will be turned off for global users starting June 24. Users are advised to transfer user data to YouTube Music which will be the "new home" for all podcast content that has been accessed through Podcasts.
Also announced is that Google Podcasts Manager will no longer work after July 29 worldwide. For podcast owners who want to transfer content analytics to other sites, they are advised to access Podcasts Manager. Google Podcast was launched in 2018 and it is now another service that Google has shut down.
