Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram is one of the companies that also invest heavily in the artificial intelligence arena. Previously, Meta had released their models, and offered a number of things in open source form.
Not only that, now according to a NYTimes report, Meta had discussed buying Simon & Schuster's bookmaker last year, in an effort to get a variety of works to use in training their artificial intelligence models.
For information, Simon & Schuster is one of the five largest book publishers. One of their published books is Elon Musk written by Walter Issacson. However, it does not appear to be continuing for now.
However, Meta's move presents something completely new in the arena of training artificial intelligence models. With the development of the world of artificial intelligence, one of the problems faced is the constraint or lack of material to continue training the models. Compared to just licensing the content, by buying a book publisher, it will provide better results and is already edited by the editor.
Previously, it was said that it is possible that technology companies will reach the material constraint of training artificial intelligence models by 2026. Could it be that by the end of this period, we will see technology companies actively buying content publishers?
