Sony ULT Wear Brings Back the Era of Extra Bass Headphones at a Price of RM899




During the 90s Sony launched the Walkman, earphones and headphones with Extra Bass feature to meet the needs of users who want their heads rocked by the booming bass. This feature is again offered through the ULT series which was launched yesterday.



The Sony ULT Wear headphones are equipped with a button that when pressed delivers the ULT1's resonant bass profile or the ULT2's louder boom. It also comes with a noise cancellation system, capabilities and head position tracking. The audio driver is a 40mm neodymium type.


Despite being offered as more affordable headphones than the XM5, it features touchpad controls on the side. The music will automatically pause when the headphones are removed and resume when put on. For Android users, Fast Pair is supported along with tethering to more than one device simultaneously.



With a single charge the battery can last up to 30 hours with recharging taking 3.5 hours. DSEE audio system is included but only SBC and AAC codecs are supported. Tethering is done using bluetooth but can also be done via a 3.5mm cable. Finally the headphone body is made of plastic material. In Malaysia Sony ULT Wear is sold at a price of RM899 a pair in Black, Offwhite and Forest Grey.
