The WD Ultrastar Transporter Is A Backpack With A Server Machine And 368TB Storage Built In

A few years ago, there was an experiment conducted where a pigeon was used to send a small storage to another location and to see if the existing internet connection was fast enough to send a file with the same storage size or not.

For any company that needs to send huge amounts of data from one location to another quickly, and where they feel the internet connection is not secure enough, Western Digital has recently introduced their latest storage product, the WD Ultrastar Transporter.

This product is a 1U server machine that can fit in a briefcase that can be taken anywhere, even on an airplane with you. In terms of components, this server machine uses an Intel Ice Lake CPU, RDIMM DDR4 memory of 128GB and also 2TB storage used for the operating system of this server machine.

This server machine comes with seven PCIe Gen4 slots, four of which consist of x16 slots and the other three are x8 slots. All these slots are seen to be connected to a large amount of flash storage (SSD) which amounts to 368TB.

To access this storage, this server machine also comes with two ethernet plugs that support 200GB/s speed which allows this server machine to be connected to the data center network easily.

In the meantime, the briefcase for this server machine is seen to be made of a hard plastic frame and has a support made of metal, and a sponge inside to absorb any shocks or shocks from damaging the components in this server machine.

So far Western Digital has not yet announced when the WD Ultrastar Transporter will be launched, along with its price.
