Threads currently has over 150 million monthly active users. More and more features on Threads now resemble what has been offered on Twitter/X for so long. This morning Adam Mosseri, announced several more new features that put the power of more comprehensive content control in the hands of users.
First of all the "Hidden Words" feature that gives the user the power to block certain phrases on the entire application. Previously blocked words were only filtered on comments that were replied to on user posts. Now it's censored on the mas channel and also comments on other posts.
Next, users can control who can quote on their posts. This will prevent them from becoming victims of attacks because their posts are not liked by other users. Finally, users can also mute notifications for specific messages.
Hidden Words has been activated for all users while other features will be rolled out gradually.
