United States May Aim To Ban Chinese Drone Firm, DJI

The United States has begun banning several technology companies based in China from operating in the country. Since Huawei, several other companies have also been targeted, and the most recent is TikTok.

According to the NYT report, the United States is now also considering DJI as a security threat, and may implement legislation to ban DJI.

DJI drones are now widely used in the United States, not only by civilian users, but also by the authorities there.

DJI is said to be on a list where products are banned from being purchased by the US military - and is expected to be extended to other US federal agencies. In addition, it is said that the United States congress is also considering blocking DJI's commercial business in the United States - citing security threats.

The use of drones is said to reveal various critical data and information that can be accessed by China. It is reported that this new legislation may take several months to be presented before seeing results from it.

So, will we see DJI also banned in the United States after this, more or less like the fate that befell Huawei?
