YouTube CEO Emphasizes Using YouTube Videos To Train OpenAI Sora Violates Platform Terms

The CEO of YouTube now emphasizes that the use of their videos to train artificial intelligence is a customer's terms of use of the YouTube platform itself. At the same time, the CEO of YouTube stated that they do not know if OpenAI is ready to use YouTube in training their artificial intelligence, especially Sora – which is their video generator.

It was also emphasized that content publishers upload content to YouTube with several considerations – and one of them is that the terms of the platform are adhered to by all parties. No permission is given for videos to be downloaded, or video transcripts to be used for training purposes.

For now, various parties are questioning the source of content used by OpenAI to train the artificial intelligence model behind Sora. Previously, it was reported that OpenAI is considering training their future spoken language models using YouTube video transcripts. However, the matter has not yet been confirmed for now.
