The bluetooth connection is usually only 10 meters away. Beyond this distance, the audio accessory connection will start to drop out. But Hubble Network, a start-up company from the United States managed to make a bluetooth connection from the earth to a satellite in space.
The Hubble Network launched two independent satellites last March. At the end of April, they managed to make a bluetooth connection with the satellite from a distance of 600 kilometers. This breakthrough opens the door to a cheaper and lower-powered object tracking system than the systems currently in use.
According to Hubble Network, existing bluetooth hardware can be used and only needs an update using software developed by them. Among the things that can be done through a remote bluetooth system are forest fire monitoring systems, tracking the location of children and even the agricultural sector.
