Elon Musk Launches Starlink In Indonesia



Elon Musk and Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, have launched the Starlink service in Indonesia yesterday. The event was held in Bali and it was seen as Mas Elon's effort to try to give an image that he is serious about investing in Indonesia which also sees Tesla opening a battery factory in the country.



In a press conference held by Musk, he emphasized the importance of internet connection as it can be a lifesaver in remote areas. Degan Indonesia has more than 17,000 homes, the issue of fast internet access has been lingering for a long time and Starlink is seen as one of the solutions that can be used.


Simultaneously with the launch of Starlink in Indonesia, they opened three health centers with satellite internet connection. Two in Bali and the other in Aru which is located in Maluku. Indonesia is believed to be Tesla's choice for a car battery factory because it has one of the largest reserves of nickel metal in the world as well as low costs compared to other countries in the Southeast Asian region.
