Google Photos Will Soon Be Able To Hide Your Backup Memes And GIFs

Google Photos is an interesting album app. It not only backs up photos and videos to the cloud but also comes with features such as easy search for photos, Memories feature that collects beautiful memories and will soon be powered by Gemini for the AI Ask Photos feature. Most recently, Google tested the ability to hide memes and GIFs that have been backed up to make the Google Photos home page neater.

This feature is for users who regularly back up other folders to Google Photos. This is because all backed up folders, photos and videos will be displayed on the main page of Google Photos. With the Photos from other apps feature, users can choose whether they want to Show all (show all), Hide clutter (hide memes and GIFs), Show none (will only display images from DCIM) or Custom (set it yourself). After making some settings and changes, the main page of Google Photos will be more organized.

What's great about this feature is, users can back up all photos but have control over what to display on Google Photos. Album sharing is also easier after this. Not only that, even if the image or video has been hidden, the search system on Google Photos can still find it.

This feature is still in testing stage, it is already available in existing application code but Google has not activated it yet. This is one of the features I'm looking forward to because my Google Photos home page is cluttered with various screenshots, camera samples and product photos that need to be rearranged.
