How to Add a Debit or Credit Card to the Google Wallet Application?

The virtual world has changed the way we spend by providing convenience that is easily accessible to consumers. For example, cashless transactions are no longer just a trend, but are increasingly becoming a lifestyle among modern consumers.

One way is to use the Google Wallet/Pay application and can be used flexibly on any Android device regardless of the brand that supports NFC. It also cares about security by protecting and encrypting user information. How to add a debit or credit card to the Google Wallet app? Here we share:

Step 1: Download the Google Wallet app from the Play Store.

Step 2: Open the Google Wallet app.

Step 3: Click 'Add to Wallet' then select 'Payment Card'.

Step 4: Enter important details such as card number, month/year, CVC number and invoice address.

Step 5: Read the full terms and click accept to proceed with registration verification.

Step 6: Choose the type of verification either through a specific code or a call from the bank.

Step 7: Once successful, the user will receive a confirmation message stating that the bank card has been successfully added.

Our test involved two types of banks namely Maybank and Public Bank which took a few minutes to activate. The registered bank application needs to be downloaded first for the verification process. For example, the Maybank MAE application for users who register using Maybank and so on. Every transaction will be recorded by Google Wallet for reference. At the same time, users can also block and remove cards from the Google Wallet application if necessary. As an option you can also confirm via phone call.

Attempting to buy using this application can also be done without any issues. Through Google Wallet, Android device users can now use a number of payment terminals that accept debit/credit cards as well as applications that accept Google Wallet. Apart from Maybank and Public Bank, a number of other banks that are also supported include CIMB, Bank Muamalat, AmBank, Hong Leong Bank, HSBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and Wise.

It should also be noted that not all Android devices with NFC support this feature since some of them do not follow the security standards set by Google.
