Object trackers have become a trend after Apple introduced AirTags. This is because it uses the Find My network system which makes all Apple device users a node for this object tracker to work well. Google and Apple have also worked together so that their respective operating systems can identify nearby object trackers so that no one misuses them for spying purposes.
Google has introduced this feature since July last year, but only distributed in selected countries with the new Find My Devide system. In the new Apple partnership, they state that iOS 17.5 devices and Android 6.0 devices and above already support the Detecting Unwanted Location Trackers feature. The user's device will receive an [Item] Found Moving With You notification if there is an object tracker nearby.
Objects that will be affected are under the brands Chipolo, eufy, Jio, Motorola, and Pebblebee and those that follow Internet Engineering Task Force standards. With this feature, the user can identify the identity of the object tracker and if it is an unknown tracker, instructions on how to turn it off will be given. Have you ever found an unknown object tracker near you and worried? After this you no longer have to worry and if you often walk out of a foreign country, a tracker like this is highly recommended to be placed in a backpack.
