Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM) is now announcing a collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in an effort to develop MyTranslate, which is a smart translation support powered by artificial intelligence. With this step, the translation process is expected to be carried out faster than usual.
According to ITBM, they appreciate the existence of other translation systems in the market such as Google Translate and Microsoft Translator. However, ITBM is responsible for developing Bahasa Melayu and this system is expected to be able to ensure correct and accurate usage. This step is also expected to make it easier for various terms related to technical disciplines such as law and science to be referred to more easily.
The collaboration with UTM is also seen to be in line with the university's focus in establishing a special faculty focusing on artificial intelligence.
For now, it is not yet known the full development period for MyTranslate before it can be accessed and used in the translation process.
